His Excellency the President and the Commander - in-Chief of the Armed Forces Maithripala Sirisena awarded the much Prestigious Vishista Seva Vibhushanaya to Major General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc – the Present Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment and the Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General Chagie Gallage WWV RWP RSP USP USAWC – the Present Director General Infantry and Major General Nandana Senadeera (Retired) WWV RWP RSP USP ndu, dignifying their exceptional, distinguished, unblemished and the loyal service rendered to the service.
These medals were awarded to the Senior Officers, amidst a gathering of distinguished invitees, including State Minister of Defence, Secretary to the President, Defence Secretary, Chief of Defence Staff, Tri-Service Commanders and several others at the Presidential Secretariat today morning.
Undoubtedly, the family of Keterians stand proud of these Senior Officers and whole heartedly salute you for your exemplary service provided to the Sri Lanka Army deserving to achieve this highest military decoration. Your valour commitment, leadership and comradeship provided at the “Wanni Humanitarian Operations” as the Infantry Formation Commanders to bring about peace to the Mother Lanka is written in the golden history. We congratulate you and wish you all the very best in your future endeavors with the blessing of “Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi”.
