ASSUMING DUTIES AS 17TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF 2ND VOLUNTEER BATTALION THE GAJABA REGIMENT

Major Kapila Dharmadasa RWP RSP assumed office as the 17th Commanding Officer of 2nd Volunteer Battalion the Gajaba Regiment at an auspicious time, on 21 October 2023 amidst religious blessings at the Headquarters 2nd Volunteer Battalion the Gajaba Regiment in Fort Fredrick, Tricomalee.

The Commanding officer was warmly welcomed by the Acting Second in Command, Major Dilina Kodithuwakku on his arrival to the camp. Then the array of day’s programme was commenced by greeting the Commanding Officer at a “Guard Turnout”. After assuming the office, he added memories by planting a Alphonso mango sapling at the camp premises to mark this special occasion and that was followed by the formal troops address and all rank tea.

Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment, Regimental Council Members, Senior Officers, Centre Commandant and all Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre extend their best wishes for his new appointment and his future endeavors.
