ASSUMING DUTIES AS 16TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF 8TH BATTALION THE GAJABA REGIMENT

Major Senal Wisidagama RSP USP assumed office as the 16th Commanding Officer of 8th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment at an auspicious time, on 02 March 2024 amidst religious blessings at the Headquarters 8th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment in MATHALE.

On arrival, the newly appointed Commanding Officer was warm heartedly welcomed by the Battalion Adjutant Captain Dhananjaya Wijesooriya and honoured with a Guard Turnout, after while, he was invited to accept the salute at a Colorful ceremonial Parade commanded by Overlooking Second in Command Major Deepal Yonamulla RWP RSP at the Battalion Headquarters parade ground and assumed duties at the auspicious time by signing an official document amidst religious blessings.

Thereafter, the Commanding Officer planted a sapling at the camp premises to mark this special occasion and later he attended the all ranks tea party held at the Other Ranks‘ Mess, where he had a cordial interaction with the troops.

Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment, Regimental Council Members, Senior Officers, Centre Commandant and all Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre extend their best wishes for his new appointment and all the success in his future endeavours.
