THE 8TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE 20TH BATTALION OF THE GAJABA REGIMENT
The 20th BATTALION had celebrated their 8th anniversary on the 1st of January 2017. They had given arms to the Ganadevi Kovil and had organised pujas to the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya, the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy and the Katharagama Devalaya in Katharagama. In addition, a kapruk puja was given to the Ruwanweli Maha Saya.
The main aim of these events were to pay courtesy to the war heroes of the 20 Gajaba Regiment, and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that peace will be kept in our beloved motherland. The families of the war heroes had also participated to these events.
Furthermore, the Commanding Officer of the 20th Battalion was provided with a parade in Saliyapura.
