The Gajaba Regimental Training School which was established on the initiative of Founder Father of the Gajaba Regiment ( Late ) proud Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne RWP RSP VSV USP psc , on 01 June 1989 at the prestigious Home of Gajaba, Saliyapura.
As the first batch of trained and passed out Regular and Volunteer recruits, 292 Regular recruits and 296 Volunteer recruits. Since the inception of the Gajaba Regimental Training School in year 1987 ( 17,128) recruits belonging to Regular and Volunteer categories have been trained and added to the strength of the Kateriyans family in a bid to get their contribution for the eradication of Terrorism from the motherland and to ensure the National Security in the country.
The Regular Recruit batch number - 71 and the Volunteer Recruit batch number - 22 , commenced their training on 23 March 2021, the total strength of 336 Recruits and upon successful completion of their training conducted under the close supervision and the direction of the Centre Commandant Gajaba Regimental Centre, Brigadier Dinesh Udugama RWP RSP USP psc.
More over, the colourful ceremonial passing out parade was held at (RTCC) Ipologama, with the participation of General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division - Major General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, as the chief guest.
Recruit Sithija H received the best Shooter and Best Recruit awards while the Recruit Sampath W A P N J received the best Physical Fitness Recruit awards from the Chief Guest.
