The annual Scholarship programme of the Gajaba Regiment “Gajaba Viru Saviya” was held on 13 February 2018 at Regimental Centre – Saliyapura. The programme was organized by Mrs Sujeewa Nelson the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch together with its all members with the intention of uplifting the education standards of the children of war heroes of the Gajaba family.
Maj Gen Shavenda Silva WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Colonel of the Regiment and Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Further, Regimental council members, other senior officers and Commanding Officers also participated for the event. 50 scholarships and 500 book packs were distributed among the children of the fallen war heroes, differently able, retired due to the medical grounds and presently serving Offrs/sldrs and civil servants of the Gajaba Regiment during the programme.
