In a most heart touching act of humanity sparked by a child's empathy, a family from the Jaffna region has come forward to support the education of children displaced by Cyclone Ditwa. Acting on the thoughtful initiative of their son, Mr. S Thirumavan and his family members donated school equipment valued at Rs 30,000 to the Jaffna Security Forces on December 10, 2025.

11 (Vol) Battalion The Gajaba Regiment Conducted School Stationery Items Donation Programme

11 (Vol) Battalion, the Gajaba Regiment, distributed school stationery items on 17th December 2025 for Anavilundankulam Government Tamil Mix School and Skandapuram NO 01 Government Tamil Mix School, located in 11 (V) GR AOR. The initiative was carried out under the vision of the General Officer Commanding of the 55 Infantry Division, guidance by the Brigade Commander of the 551 Infantry Brigade, and supervision by the Commanding Officer of the 11 (Vol) Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment. The programme aimed to provide essential relief and strengthen community welfare in the area. The programme concluded at 1130 hrs.

In Line With The Concept Of The Clean Sri Lanka Programme, A Project Was Implemented To Provide Sanitation Facilities For Low-Income Families.

According to the concept of the Clean Sri Lanka Programme implemented by the present government, and with the aim of creating a healthy environment for the future generation, a programme to construct and ceremonially handed over a sanitary facility for a low-income family living in the GN Division J/353 UDUPPIDDI (N), under the Karaweddi Secretariat, was carried out on 19 DECEMBER 2025 under the patronage of the Commander, 521 Infantry Brigade .This project was completed with the guidance and instructions of the BRIG BDTD JAYARATHNA psc Commander, 521 Brigade Headquarters and with the labour contribution of the troops of the 11th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. During the event, the residents a letter of appreciation was presented to the Commander, 521 Infantry Brigade. A total of 03×08 troops of the unit participated in this community welfare programme, which was highly appreciated by the local civilian community.
