The Colonel of the Regiment, Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, paid an official visit to the 12 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment on 09 November 2025.
Upon his arrival, the Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer and all ranks of the battalion. Following the welcome, he planted a sapling, symbolizing growth and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
He then attended the Commanding Officer’s briefing, during which he was updated on the battalion’s operational readiness, administrative functions and welfare initiatives.
The visit continued with a troop address, where the Colonel of the Regiment emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of discipline, training and unity within the regiment.
Subsequently, the Colonel of the Regiment undertook a camp visit, inspecting various training, administrative and welfare facilities. His presence and words of encouragement greatly motivated the troops, reinforcing their commitment to regimental excellence.
The visit concluded with an All Ranks Tea, fostering camaraderie and esprit de corps among all ranks. Afterwards, the Colonel of the Regiment signed the Visitors’ Book, marking the end of a memorable and dignified occasion.
