1ST BATTALION THE GAJABA REGIMENT ORGANIZED A SCHOOL SHOES DONATION PROGRAMME

1 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment (1 GR) in collaboration with its Sewa Wanitha unit, school shoes donation programme was conduct on 06 April 2025 to facilitate the school children with the sponsorship of DSI Samson Industries (Pvt) Ltd. In that 104 school children were donated school shoes.

Mrs. Chamila Godakumbura the chairperson of 1 GR Sewa Wanitha unit grace the occasion as Chief Guest with invitation of Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel RMMPM Rajanayake RWP RSP psc.

In the meantime, a session of lecture themed "Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurship development" was held to educate wives of soldiers.

The lecture was conducted by Mrs. Sumedha Kumaraarachchi, Manager Rural Upliftment, SDB Bank Head Office. In that broadly discussed on Challenges, Strengths and Women's contribution towards the development of the nation as well as building endurance to win the economical background of the families.
