NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 20th BATTALION THE GAJABA REGIMENT ASSUMES OFFICE

Major Rohana Ekanayake RWP RSP psc assumed office as the 08th Commanding Officer of 20th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment at an auspicious time, on 29 January 2025 amidst religious blessings at the Headquarters 20th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment in Pulmoddai.

On arrival, the newly appointed Commanding Officer was warmly welcomed by the Second in Command Major Prabath Mirihagoda and honoured with a Guard Turnout, Ceremonial parade and assumed duties at the auspicious time by signing an official document amidst religious blessings.

Further, the Commanding Officer planted a sapling at the camp premises to mark this special occasion and that was followed by the formal troops address. Later he attended the all ranks tea party held at battalion Corporals' Club, where he had a cordial interaction with gathering of troops.

Colonel of the Regiment, Regimental Council Members, Senior Officers, Centre Commandant and all Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre extend their best wishes for his new appointment and all the success in his future endeavours.
