TWO MORE RETIRED DISTINGUISHED KETERIANS WERE HONOURED IN A FAREWELL SALUTE AT THE HOME OF GAJABA

The Gajaba Regiment bid farewell to its proud sons, Major General Rohan Rajapaksha RSP, the former General Officer Commanding of 54 Infantry Division and Brigadier Mahinda Rajapaksha RWP RSP USP the former Commandant of the Combat Training School Ampara on 17 January 2025. They took the Farewell Salute at the Home of Gajaba upon retirement from the service after outstanding and illustrious military careers spanning over three decades.

As per the guidance of Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc the ceremony was commenced with a customary Guard Turn followed by Floral Tribute to the founding father of Gajaba Regiment, Major General Vijaya Wimalarathne RWP RSP VSV USP psc. Thereafter, the retiring Senior Officers were honoured with separate Ceremonial Parades, giving them the utmost respect and admiration for their dedicated and outstanding service rendered to the Gajaba Regiment. The ceremony concluded with an All Ranks tea at the Other Ranks’ Mess, where the retiring senior officer engaged in a cordial conversation with everyone in attendance.

Members of the Regimental Council, Centre Commandant, Senior officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Regimental Headquarters attended to the ceremony.
