Retiring Regimental Sergeant Major Extended with Formal Honour at the Home of Gajaba

In recognition of his exemplary, unblemished and dedicated service rendered to the Sri Lanka Army and the Gajaba Regiment over many years, the Retiring Regimental Sergeant Major WO I DMSDissanayake USP was extended a formal honour and farewell ceremony at the Home of Gajaba, in keeping with long standing regimental traditions and military customs.

The formal farewell proceedings commenced with the dignified departure of the Retiring Regimental Sergeant Major from the Official Residence marking the conclusion of his distinguished service. Thereafter, he paid solemn tribute by laying a floral offering at the Gajaba War Heroes Monument in honour of fallen war heroes. This was followed by a ceremonial Farewell Parade conducted in accordance with established military customs reflecting the respect and gratitude of the Regiment for his exemplary service.

In keeping with long standing regimental tradition the proceedings concluded with his final visit to the Officers’ Mess, symbolising a respectful and heartfelt farewell at the Home of Gajaba.
