NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 4TH BATTALION, THE GAJABA REGIMENT ASSUMED OFFICE

Lt Col M S S Fernando USP psc was assumed office as the 3rd Commanding Officer of the 4th Battalion, the Gajaba Regiment on 30 September 2025 at the Battalion Headquarters in Madhu - Mannar.

Upon his arrival, the newly appointed Commanding Officer was accorded a Guard Turnout. He officially assumed duties at the auspicious time by signing the official documents amidst religious blessings. To mark this significant occasion, he planted a sapling within the camp premises and delivered a formal address to the troops. Subsequently, he participated in the all ranks tea and engaged in cordial interactions with under command troops.

The Colonel of the Regiment, Regimental Council Members, Senior Officers, Centre Commandant and all Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre extend their heartfelt congratulations on his new appointment and wish him every success in all future endeavors.
