NCOs’ Training Day Successfully Held at Gajaba Regiment Centre

A Non-Commissioned Officers’ (NCOs) Training Day was successfully held on 16 July 2025 at the Gajaba Regiment NCOs’ Complex under the guidance of Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment and the Supervision of Centre Commandant.

The event brought together 280 NCOs from all units of the Gajaba Regiment. The day commenced with a morning physical training session and a lecture on the National Flag and Colour Flags, delivered by Colour Sergeant M A S Chandra Kumara. A special guest lecture on the harmful effects of illicit drugs and tobacco was conducted by Mrs. Chandani Tamara Seneviratne, the Provincial Coordinator of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board.

The programme also featured group activities designed to strengthen leadership and teamwork among the participants. Major R M I C S Bandara, Assistant Mess Manager of the Gajaba Regimental Centre, conducted a session on Mess Etiquette, further reinforcing professional conduct. The day concluded with a dignified closing gathering, upholding regimental values, unity and the spirit among the attending NCOs.
