The Colonel of the Regiment and all members of the Gajaba Regiment hosted a vibrant Farewell Parade and Dinner on 14 September 2025, in honour of Major General Wishwajith Vidyananda RWP RSP USP marking the conclusion of his distinguished military service spanning over 34 years. The ceremony commenced with a customary Guard Turnout, followed by a floral tribute at the statue of the late Major General W I V K M Wimalarathne RWP RSP VSV USP psc. The retiring veteran Keterian was then honoured with a colourful parade at the regimental parade ground, recognizing his dedicated and outstanding service to the Gajaba Regiment. Following the parade, a group photograph and an all ranks tea was held to mark the occasion, signifying growth, legacy and camaraderie. Later that evening, a grand farewell dinner was held at the Officers’ Mess of the Gajaba Regiment. This dignified event provided an opportunity for officers to express their gratitude and pay tribute to the legacy of Major General Wishwajith Vidyananda RWP RSP USP, celebrating his leadership, service and achievements with deep respect.
