Housewarming Ceremony of Newly Constructed House of Colour Sergeant Mangala W M G W of 5(V) GR

A housewarming ceremony for the newly built residence of Colour Sergeant Mangala W M G W of 5(V) Gajaba Regiment took place on 9 July 2025 in Rajanganaya. The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf- ndu psc IG, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and officially handed over the keys to the proud homeowner. He was warmly welcomed by Major General Dinesh Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and Colonel of the Regiment, along with the President of the Gajaba Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Udari Anupama Gamage, senior officers and Seva Vanitha members.

This noble project was made possible through the generous donations of Dr Gayathri Salgado (MBBS, FACGP)and Dr Prasad Gunaruwan (MBBS, FRACP,phd MRCP) both based in Australia. Their contributions were coordinated by Major General Wishwajith Vidyananda RWP RSP USP and Dr Mrs Samantha Nilanthi De Silva, former Secretary of the Gajaba Seva Vanitha Branch. The construction was undertaken by troops of the 5(V) GR, under the supervision of their Commanding Officer and in collaboration with the Seva Vanitha Branch, symbolising the enduring values of compassion, teamwork and regimental solidarity.
