GAJABA REGIMENT HONORS FALLEN WAR HEROES AT 41ST ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION

The Gajaba Regiment, one of the most distinguished Regiment in the Sri Lanka Army, commemorated Its fallen war heroes in a solemn and dignified ceremony held at the evening hours of 13 October, this solemn event took place at the Gajaba War Heroes' Monument with the presence of Colonel of the Regiment Major General M G W W W M C B Wickramasinghe as the Chief Guest and gethering of Senior Officers and Other Ranks along with NOKs of fallen war heroes. They all payed their utmost respects and tribute to war heroes who laid down their precious lives for the sake of Motherland during the prolonged ethnic conflict existed in the country where 171 heretic officers and 4,068 brave men have made their utmost sacrifice while 176 officers and 4,463 men sustaining serious injuries leaving many of them permanently disabilities.
