First Regimental Sergeant Major of the Gajaba Regiment along with Former Regimental Sergeant Majors of the 3rd Battalion Gajaba Regiment pay their gratitude to the Regimental Center

A warm and nostalgic gathering of retired Regimental Sergeant Majors from the esteemed 3rd Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment was held at Home of Gajaba on 07th December 2024.

The event was particularly significant with the presence of the first Regimental Sergeant Major of the Gajaba Regiment, S/75050 WO1 G Upasinghe, whose legacy set a standard for generations to follow. This gathering provided a perfect opportunity for these distinguished veterans to reunite, relive cherished memories, and share their experiences from years of dedicated service.

On this memorable evening, the gathering of retired Regimental Sergeant Majors paid their profound tribute to the Founding Father of the Gajaba Regiment, late Maj Gen Vijaya Wimalaratne, by placing a floral wreath at his statue.

Additionally, these veterans were honoured to place a floral wreath at the Gajaba Monument in memory of all the Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment who made the supreme sacrifice for the sake of the Motherland.

With the presence of the Centre Commandant, Brigadier Thanuja Godewatte RWP RSP, the visit culminated with a cordial interaction with all the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers at the Warrant Officers and Sergeants' Mess.
