The Sewa Wanitha Branch of the 20th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment organised a community welfare program aimed at supporting expectant mothers from low income families in the Paranamedawachchiya Grama Niladhari division. As part of the initiative, dry ration packs valued at over Rs. 6,000 each were distributed to ten expectant mothers, addressing their essential needs during a critical period.
The event was successfully coordinated with the full support of the Unit Sewa Wanitha Branch, the Commanding Officer, all ranks and the participation of the President and members of the Sewa Wanitha Branch. Health officials, including the Medical Officer of Health – Padavi Sri Pura and area midwives, also lent their support. The program concluded with a communal lunch, reflecting the battalion’s enduring commitment to the welfare and upliftment of its local community.
