Commemoration of the 31st Anniversary of the Pooneryn Decisive Battle

To honour the memory of the fallen, missing, and wounded war heroes from the tragic Pooneryn attack a series of commemorative events have been organized under the guidance of the Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel of the Gajaba Regiment and the Commandant and several other senior officers of the regiment graced the events.

For the commemoration a religious service and charity event, organized in honor of fallen war heroes, was held under the supervision of Major General RKNC Jayawardena RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 55 Infantry Division. The event took place at the 552 Infantry Brigade.

As part of this commemoration, the Gajaba Regimental Centre has coordinated a special donation event at St. Luke's Methodist Elders' Home in Puttur, providing basic needs and lunch to 19 elders and 14 staff members. This gesture reflects our enduring respect and gratitude towards the sacrifices made by our brave heroes.
