ADVANCING THE VISION OF WELFARE: GAJABA SEVA VANITHA BRANCH HOLDS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Gajaba Seva Vanitha Branch was ceremonially convened at the Multi-Functional Hall, Officers’ Mess “Home of Gajaba” on 14th September 2025. The august assembly was chaired by Mrs. Udari Anupama Gamage, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch – Gajaba Regiment.

The proceedings commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial oil lamp, the rendition of the Seva Vanitha Anthem and observance of a two-minute silence in solemn remembrance of the fallen war heroes. A dignified welcome address, enhanced by a cultural performance of traditional dancers, marked the formal inauguration of the occasion.

In her keynote address, the president delineated the strategic direction of the branch for the forthcoming year. The address emphasized four priority areas:

Strengthening the financial resilience of all members of Gajaba family and imparting knowledge on proper financial management.

Assisting children education of the members in their educational pursuits, including the provision of targeted scholarships.

Extending medical support and welfare assistance to the members and their families.

Conducting awareness program to safeguard families from the perils of narcotics acts of criminals and other unlawful influences.

Subsequently, Mrs. Samantha Nilanthi De Silva, secretery of the branch presented the annual report while the Treasurer, Mrs.Thanuja Dilini Nadira Vithana presented the executive summary of the budget report revenue. Thereafter, the president invited for new initiatives and proposals for the efficient execution of all actions announcing of new districts committees and nominating leaders from each committee to oversee operations within their respective districts.

Following a brief interval for fellowship and refreshments, members partook in an informative counseling session on “Stress and Anger Management” conducted by Mrs. K.S.R. De Soysa who is a Psychotherapist & Psychological counselor.

The proceedings concluded with a gracious vote of thanks delivered by the Secretary. The National Anthem was sung in unison, and the distinguished gathering posed for an official group photograph to mark the successful conclusion of the 18th AGM of the Gajaba Seva Vanitha Branch.
