8th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment Celebrates Its 24th Anniversary

The 8th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment proudly celebrated its 24th anniversary on 20 June 2025. Under the esteemed leadership of the Commanding Officer, Lt Col Senal Wisidagama RSP USP, the day began with multi-religious observances to invoke blessings for the battalion flag and all serving and retired members. Additionally, merits were transferred to the fallen war heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.

To commemorate this significant occasion, the Commanding Officer was honoured with a Guard Turnout, followed by a Ceremonial Parade that showcased the battalion’s discipline and unity. As part of the anniversary traditions, an All-Ranks lunch was held, during which the Commanding Officer shared moments of camaraderie and heartfelt appreciation with officers and soldiers of the battalion.
