BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN CONDUCTED BY 6 (RFT) SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS

A blood donation campaign was successfully conducted on 28 March 2026 by the 6 (Rft) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, inspired by the initiative of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. The programme was carried out with the assistance of the Blood Transfusion Unit of the Trincomalee General Hospital.

95 soldiers from the unit and adjacent establishments voluntarily participated in this humanitarian effort with great enthusiasm and dedication, demonstrating their commitment and solidarity in support of national healthcare needs.

This timely initiative was organized in response to repeated requests made by the Trincomalee General Hospital, highlighting the prevailing blood shortage across the country. Special approval for the campaign was granted by the Adjutant General’s Branch, considering the critical situation despite numerous challenges, including the prevailing fuel crisis.

The campaign concluded as a remarkable success, reflecting the unwavering commitment of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps towards fulfilling national requirements and extending support to the civilian community in times of need.
