On 19 January 2024, 5 SLAC commemorated a special day with three significant events. The Unit Symposium of 5 Reconnaissance Regiment sparked intellectual discussions, the Diners’ Club featured a Guest Lecture expanding horizon of knowledge, and the 30th Anniversary Officers Get-Together celebrated years of dedication and camaraderie.
Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and the Colonel Commandant SLAC and other dignitaries graced the occasion. The Symposium, a melting pot of ideas, showcased thought-provoking discussions.
The Diners’ Club, with Brigadier R G U Rajapaksha (Rtd) RSP psc lecture on 'Civil-Military Relations: The Role of Military,' offered both knowledge and social interaction. The crowning jewel was the 30th Anniversary Officers’ Get-Together, a celebration of loyalty, teamwork, and shared accomplishments.
Together, these events wove a tapestry of diversity and achievement, paying tribute to the collective efforts of the Officers of the 5 Reconnaissance Regiment.
