The Military Secretary and the 14th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc paid his inaugural visit to the 6th Regiment SLAC (Rft) on 04 November 2023. He was accompanied by Brigadier P N Wijesiriwardena RSP USP, the Centre Commandant, Regimental Centre SLAC, Brigadier L K T Fernando RSP USP, Commander Armoured Brigade and Brigadier Y H P Rangajeewa USP, Commander 223 Infantry Brigade.
The visit unfolded with a guard turnout, distribution of school supplies by ALC, planting of a sapling, troop address and a camp visit.
During the Camp visit, the Colonel Commandant specially paid his concentration on the security of Armoury and Ammo dump. After planting a sapling, Colonel Commandant addressed troops of 6 SLAC and emphasised the importance of maintaining high standard of discipline as individuals and the value of military service, and maintaining absolute discipline and the importance of being exemplary to the Other Ranks during his officers address. Further, he urged all Officers to be aware of the latest Army Orders and criteria published by the Army Headquarters on Officers' career progression.
Prior to the departure, Colonel Commandant placed remarks on the visitors book.
