Sri Lanka Armoured Corps collaborated with the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR) has conducted the 10th Cavalry Supercross after three years, on 29 October 2023 at the Pangolla race track.
Cavalry Supercross 2023 event featured 13 car racing events with a total of 79 car competitors. Additionally, 84 competitors participated in 11 motorcycle races. A notable aspect of this tournament was the inclusion of 25 amateur competitors under the age of 10, adding a dimension of youth involvement in motorsport.
The event holds particular importance as it marks the third round of the ‘Nippon Paint Sri Lanka Super Series’ after a three-year gap, signifying a revival of this series within the Sri Lankan motorsport calendar.
The collaboration between the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and SLARDAR showcases a concerted effort to overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic and revive the racing spirit in the country.
The return of the Cavalry Supercross serves as a testament to the resilience of the motorsport community and their determination to reignite the passion for racing in Sri Lanka despite the difficulties brought on by the global health crisis.
