School Books and Stationery donation programme for the children of the soldiers of the 1st Reconnaissance Regiment was organised at the Rock House Camp on 18th October 2023 and the president of Armour Ladies Club Mrs Samangka Fernando graced the occasion as the chief guest.
This noble event was organised under the conceptualisation of Mrs Fernando and the whole consignment of books and stationeries was provided by the president with her personal funds which is intended to uplift the education of the children.
The President Armour Ladies Club was warmly welcomed by the group leader of 1st Reconnaissance Regiment Mrs Ayesha Paragahathanthree and during the event Mrs. Fernando ceremonially handed over book packs to five children and a bulk of books were handed over to Mrs Ayesha Paragahathanthree which will be distributed among the children of the soldiers of the regiment.
The programme was organised abreast to the inaugural visit of the Colonel Commandant Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc to the 1st Reconnaissance Regiment on 18 October 2023 and the Colonel Commandant, Centre Commandant, Commander Armoured Brigade, Commanding Officer, Officers and Other Ranks attended the event.
