As per the guidance of Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP VSV USP psc, the Colonel Commandant SLAC, an Officers Training Day was successfully conducted on Monday, 27 March 2023 at Rock House camp premises with the participation of SLAC Senior Officers and Officers including the Officers serving on extra regimental employments. The training programme was steered with the overall supervision of Brigadier W P Kariyawasam, the Commander Armoured Brigade.
Day’s training programme commenced with an Aerobic exercise session conducted by a trainer from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, which gave a novel experience for the participants. After a package of Sword drill, Officers attended a visiting lecture from the Military Secretary Branch on ‘Officers’ Career Progression’. Thereafter, Officers had an opportunity to visit ‘Port City Colombo’, which gave them an supplementary acquaintance to the ongoing national project.
During evening hours, the best unit presentation of year 2022, ‘Major Operations of 4 Armoured Regiment; Riviresa 1, Sathjaya and Jayasikurui’ was staged by the team of 4 Armoured Regiment before the Senior Officers and Officers including few retired Senior Officers of the corps at the Auditorium of RHQ SLAC. The event was followed by an interaction session and dinner for participants at the Cavalry Mess.
