Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc assumed duties as the 13th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps amidst religious blessings at the Regimental Centre on 24 February 2021 by adhering all stipulated guidelines to prevent COVID 19 pandemic.
Commencing the days programme, newly appointed Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant and Commanding Officer of 1st Reconnaissance Regiment at the entrance to the Home of Armour.
Subsequently, Guard of Honour was accorded in order to felicitate his promotion and being appointed as the Colonel Commandant and he officially assumed duties as the Colonel Commandant at his office with the presence of Council Members and Senior officers of SLAC.
Setting out his scope of work, Major General Swarna Bothota addressed Officers and Other Ranks and afterwards, he planted a ‘Sandun’ sapling as a symbol of memory.
After the All Ranks Tea, he addressed Officers outlining the importance of professionalism while maintaining the high standards which have been maintained over the time.
