UNVEILING OF THE PORTRAIT OF "THE FATHER OF THE 5th RECONNAISSANCE REGIMENT" OF SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS

The "Father of the 5^th Reconnaissance Regiment" of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and the 6^th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and the former Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq, Maj Gen N A Ranasinghe (Rtd) RSP VSV USP ndc psc lsc, was the Chief Guest for unveiling of his portrait at Officers’ Mess of the 5^th Reconnaissance Regiment on the invitation of Lt Col D K S M Kariyawasam USP, the Commanding Officer of the 5^th Reconnaissance Regiment. Maj Gen N A Ranasinghe (Rtd) RSP VSV USP ndc psc Isc, having unveiled the portrait, was delighted to witness the improvement achieved by the Regiment since inception.

Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and the General Officer Commanding – 12 Division, Maj Gen A L P S Tillekerathna RWP RSP USP psc, The Commander Armoured Brigade, Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, past Commanding Officers who are in service, senior Officers and Officers of 5^th Reconnaissance Regiment were present during the occasion.
