Armour ladies joined the ‘Thuruliya Wenuwen Api' reforestation project initiated by the Sri Lanka Army at Wilpattu Forest Reserve area. The President of Armour Ladies Club Mrs Sheromi Liyanage and other members symbolically planted few saplings around the Marichchakaddi area and handed over 300 environmental friendly saplings of rare species such as Kumbuk, Mee, Magosa, Mahogany, etc to be planted in Wilpattu Forest Reserve.
All participants were warmly welcomed by Major General Senerath Bandara, General Officer Commanding 54 Division upon their arrival.
During the programme Mrs Sheromi Liyanage agreed to assist enhancement of the irrigation system for the plantation. General Officer Commanding 54 Division, Commander – 541 Brigade, Commanding Officers and few other officers were among the participants.
