Uttama Puja Medal Awarding Ceremony, which is a noble project of Secretary of the Defence and designed to pay tribute to parents, wives and children of fallen war heroes, was conducted at 5 SLAC Camp Premises at Pangolle.\r\n\r\nThis mega event was organized by the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on the instruction of the Ministry of Defence and Ranaviru Seva Authority to felicitate the parents, wives, children or next of kin of the late war heroes who came from the Kurunegala district. More than 2500 family members of the war heroes who made their supreme sacrifice to safeguard the country were awarded with the Uttama Puja Medal.\r\n\r\nSecretary Defence and Urban Development Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa attended as the chief guest at the \'Uttama Pooja\' felicitation ceremony. Many other dignitaries representing Ranaviru Seva Authority, three forces, police and other civil authorities in the area also were present at the occasion.
