SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS PAY TRIBUTE TO ITS LEGENDARY MILITARY LEADER LATE LIEUTENANT GENERAL DENZIL KOBBEKADUWA.

Lieutenant General D L Kobbekaduwa RWP RSP VSV USP rcds psc, one of the most admired and finest war heroes in the contemporary history in Sri Lanka made the supreme sacrifice in protecting the mother Lanka on 8th August 1992 at Araly point in Jaffna.

The 28th death anniversary of Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa was remembered on 8 August 2020 amid military honours accorded at the General’s statue in the heart of Anuradhapura town in the presence of host of military officers. Major General A L P S Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc, Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and the General Officer Commanding 12 Division as the Chief Guest for the occasion laid floral wreaths and troops of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps presented honours to the great warrior.

Commandant - Forward Maintain Area (North Central) - Major General Ranjan Premalal, General Officer Commanding - 21 Division Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander - Forward Maintain Area (East) Brigadier Athula Ariyarathne Director - Directorate of Recruiting, Brigadier Samantha Silva, Commander Armoured Brigade - Brigadier Tharaka Rathnasekara, Centre Commandant - SLAC Brigadier Sumith Devappriya, council members of SLAC, Commandant - Armoured Corps Training Centre and Commanding Officers of SLAC Units participated in the event.
