SPECIAL POOJA IN KATARAGAMA INVOKES BLESSINGS ON FALLEN HEROES
Written By : Lt Col Anton Wijesekara RSP psc - SLAC\r\n\r\nAs a precursor to the forthcoming 59th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, which falls on 15th of December, a special pooja was held at the Kataragama Devalaya and the Kiri Vehera temple, to remember the war heroes and to invoke blessings and transfer of merits.\r\nThe Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Commanding Officers of all regiments and staff of the regimental centre accompanied more than 350 kith and kin of fallen war heroes of the Corps for this meritorious act.\r\nThe entourage also visited Sithulpawwa, Sella Kataragama and Veherahena temples to invoke blessings on their beloved ones.\r\n28 officers and 413 soldiers of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps paid the supreme sacrifice during the 30 years of the war with LTTE.\r\n
