Sri Lanka Armoured Corps bade farewell to Maj Gen U A B Medawela (Rtd) RSP VSV USP ndu psc with a formal farewell dinner, held at the SLAC Regimental Centre premises at Cavalry Mess Rock House Camp on 20 April 2023.

Maj Gen Ubaya Medawela retired on 03 December 2016 after completing over 35 years in the Army having held numerous important appointments in the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. The Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP VSV USP psc and the President Armour Ladies Club Dr (Mrs) Harshini Bothota along with Armour Ladies, Council Members, Senior Officers and Officers joined the event to honour Maj Gen Ubaya Medawela and his lady Mrs. Mahesha De Silva.
