The 5th Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps in a powerful display of professionalism in sports, gained the Inter-Unit Rugby Sevens’ Championship title with a sounding win against 4 Armoured Regiment ,Rugby Sevens’ Championship 2018 held at Home of Armour Rugby grounds on 26 and 27 March 2018. In the arena of finals 5th Recce Regiment blows away 4 Armoured Regiment with ease. The 5th Recce Ruggerrites dominated proceedings from the beginning and outplayed the 4 Armoured players in all departments of the game. As the ending score, 5th Recce out muscles the 4 Armoured Regiment by 40 - 0. Apart from the Championship, Lt K T G S P K Jayathilake from 5th Recce Rugby team crowned as the Best Ruggerrite in the tournament. The Commander Security Force( West) and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Maj Gen S D T Liyanage WWV RWP ndc psc graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
