The Armour Ladies Club (ALC) conducted a brief ceremony to award scholarships and donate medical equipment, TABLET PCs and books for the soldiers’ families on 04 January 2022 at the Rock House Army Camp.
At the invitation of Dr (Mrs) Harshini Bothota, President, ALC together with Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, the Colonel Commandant of SLAC graced the occasion as the Chief Guests while Centre Commandant SLAC, Commander Armoured Brigade, Commanding Officer of 1 SLAC added recognition to the gesture as the invitees.
The two scholarships provided by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit were awarded to the best achievers in GCE O/L (2019) and GCE A/L (2019) examinations as incentives to continue their higher studies. At the same occasion, by responding to a request made by Brigadier P A M Peiris RSP USP psc, Commander Armoured Brigade from Mr Ajantha de Vas Gunasekara, Chief Financial Officer, Sampath Bank PLC has undertaken an initiative to provide scholarship to the daughter of Cpl Lasan HI (KIA) also took place.
