A PINNACLE OF TROOPERS, “POSON BETHI GEE SARANIYA”

Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 4 (Wednesday) July brought Poson arrangements to a pinnacle, staged its state-of-the-art masterpiece, ‘Poson Bethi Gee Saraniya’ (Poson devotional songs) at the auditorium at Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, before a distinguished gathering of invitees, as the Chief Guest, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake graced the occasion with the invitation of Commander Security Force Headquarters (West) / Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage,

The display of those aesthetic talents, ‘Bethi Gee’ took place as a tribute to the Poson phenomenon which heralded a new culture and civilization for Buddhist nation many centuries ago.

Each Regiment presented a team consist of 8 Troopers and a SNCO in a lead to sing three devotional songs to colour the phenomenon. The Cavaliers beat group orchestrated the evening by adding balletic symbols to the tune of soothing melodies. Finally, through an independent panel of judges, 3 Armoured Regiment rend high in air with the best singing team while 4 Armoured Regiment achieving its place as the Second. As an encouragement, the best teams were rewarded with the cash prizes.

Towards the end of the arrangement, Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Colonel Commandant, SLAC presented a memento to the Commander of the Army for his gracious presence.
