Brigadier L K T Fernando RSP USP, the newly appointed Commander Armoured Brigade assumed his office on Monday, 16 October 2023 at the Headquarters Armoured Brigade - Rock House Camp amidst a simple ceremony.
He placed his signature on an official document and symbolized the acceptance of his new responsibilities. After having a staff briefing conducted by Brigade staff officers, he addressed the troops at the auditorium explained his vision for the smooth functioning of the brigade through coordinated teamwork, discipline, and rendered services as per the rules and regulations of the army. Further, He emphasized the enhancement of professionalism and competitiveness among all ranks serving while maintaining the highest cavalry standards at all times. He humbly extended gratitude for the entire past cavalryman who groomed him up to where he is today.
Marking the end of the day’s event, the new commander visited all the branches, sections and the camp premises of the Headquarters Armoured Brigade with his staff.
