Lt Col U K Wickramarachchi took over the duties as the Commanding Officer of 8 (Rft) SLAC on 9 January 2012. He took over the duties from Lt Col P A M Peiris psc who was commanding the unit for nearly two years. Lt Col U K Wickramarachchi is the 14th Commanding Officer of 8 SLAC.
Both outgoing and incoming Commanding Officers were accorded with guard turnouts on their arrival to Rock House Camp. Lt Col P A M Peris psc addressed all ranks of 8 SLAC and thanked them for support extended to discharge his duties successfully and wished unit and everybody for a bright future . Later he joined with them for a tea party before his departure at the Army Headquarters.
