LITERARY FESTIVAL 2020

Armour Ladies Club (ALC) successfully held its Literary Festival 2020 with a glamorous awards ceremony on 8 September 2020. This novel event in the annual calendar of Armour Ladies Club was introduced and made a reality by Mrs Piumali Tillekerathne, President of Armour Ladies Club to coincide with the International Literacy Day.

The event was graced by Professor Mrs Kusuma Karunarathna, first female lecturer in the Sinhala Department at the University of Colombo, first female Professor of Sinhala, first women to head the department of Sinhala at University of Colombo, former Dean and the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo along with Mrs Deepali Dissanayake, former teacher of Anula Vidyalaya, Mr Dharmappriya Dias, teacher of arts and popular actor and Mr Romesh Tissanayagam, Human Resources and Administration Manager Opex Holdings Ltd and popular Radio Presenter and Disk Jockey in Real FM, The certificate winners including Cavalry Officers, Other Rankers and their children participated in this knowledge infusing exercise. The event concluded with the art exhibition that displayed the skills of Armour children followed by tea.
