Inter Unit Badminton Tournament - 2022 organised by1st Reconnaissance Regiment, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps was held at Rock House Indoor Stadium on 03, 04, 10 and 12 of August 2022. Military Secretary and the Col Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Maj Gen D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at the finals.
Subsequently a very competitive tournament, 4th Armoured Regiment emerged as the Champions by defeating 6th Regiment Rft. 5th Reconnaissance Regiment was able to secure the 2 Runner up in the Team Tournament. S/2131354 Rec Welagedara N N from 1st Reconnaissance Regiment emerged as the Champion by defeating S/2130626 Rec Pathirana V R Y from 5th Reconnaissance Regiment in Open Individual Tournament. Col D K R N Silva RSP USP psc and Lt Col R H A Hennade RSP psc emerged as the Champions by defeating Maj Gen D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc and Lt Col D K S M Kariyawasam USP respectvely in over 45 age officers’ team event.
S/2131354 Rec Welagedara NN from 1st Reconnaissance Regiment was able to mark his best achievements as the Best Player.
