GLORY OF THE BIDDING FAREWELL PARADE OF MAJOR GENERAL MANO PERERA

The Colourful Farewell Parade has been held by the Cavalrymen to one of its most loyal leading figure, Maj Gen Mano Perera on 18th February 2016. The parade was held at the Mahapola ground premises to giving honour for his continuous 34 years of distinguish service towards the regiment and as well as the SL Army. Major General A M Perera RWP RSP psc is a proud product of the Trinity College, Kandy.He joined the army on 31 August 1981 and commissioned into the 1st Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 18th July 1982 as a Second Lieutenant. He has since served in many vital Command, Staff and Training appointments in the Sri Lanka Army. Major General A M Perera RWP RSP psc was recently served as the Commander, Army Training Command and functions in the hounorary capacity of Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Mechanized Infantry Regiment. He is a recipient of the both Rana Wickrama Padakkama and the Rana Sura Padakkama which were awarded for conspicuous gallantry in the battle. A grand farewell dinner also hosted at the New Cavalry Officers Mess in honour of Maj Gen Mano Perera and Mrs Thiranthi Perera.
