FAREWELL TO THE 15TH COLONEL COMMANDANT

The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps bid a glamorous farewell to its 15th Colonel Commandant, Major General M S Devapriya USP ndc, on 12 June 2025, marking the end of an exceptional chapter in the Corps' proud history.

Major General Devapriya retires after, over 35 years of unblemished and dedicated service, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, dedication , and lasting contributions; particularly during his tenure as the Quarter Master General of the Sri Lanka Army, where he significantly uplifted the standards of the Armoured Corps.

The day’s formalities commenced with a Guard Turnout, followed by a Ceremonial Parade. There after the official handing over took place at the Colonel Commandant’s office, symbolizing a graceful transition of leadership.

Later, he warmly interacted with officers and men during an all ranks tea party, a gesture that reflected his deep bond with members of the Corps followed by a traditional Armoured corps Street Line. He was further honoured by a grand Formal Dinner Night at the Cavalry Mess.

We salute his service and wish him strength, happiness, and continued success in his next chapter.
