EMBRACING LEADERSHIP: THE PASSING OF COMMAND IN THE 3 ARMOURED REGIMENT

Lt Col U K K W M R A W I A B Kulatunge psc recently assumed the role of the 24th Commanding Officer of the 3 Armoured Regiment, Kalattewa, on 05 April 2024. A formal military ceremony, complete with a Guard Turnout, welcomed the newly appointed Commanding Officer, who officially took over his duties by signing an official document amidst religious observances.

As part of the ceremony, the Commanding Officer planted a sapling within the camp premises, addressed the troops, and joined in the All-Ranks tea. The Officers and Other Ranks of the regiment extended their warm wishes to Lt Col Indika Kulatunge for his future endeavors.

Just a few days earlier, on 03 April 2024, a farewell ceremony was held at the 3 Armoured Regiment to bid farewell to the outgoing Commanding Officer, Lt Col N V A M Vithanage RSP psc. Following military tradition, Lt Col Manoj Vithanage handed over his duties after completing his tenure as the Commanding Officer. The farewell ceremony included a Guard Turnout and a Ceremonial Parade to honor his service.

The out-going Commanding Officer, addressed the troops during the event, and a group photograph was taken as a memento. The ceremony concluded with an All-Ranks tea, marking the end of Lt Col Manoj Vithanage's tenure as the Commanding Officer of the 3 Armoured Regiment.
