THE COLONEL COMMANDANT VISITS 5 RECONNAISSANCE REGIMENT

The Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Major General A L P S Tillekerathne RWP RSP USP psc paid his first visit after assuming the duties to 5 Reconnaissance Regiment on 10 July 2020 and he was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 5 Reconnaissance Regiment along with a Guard Turnout. Colonel Commandant was the 6th Commanding Officer of the 5 Reconnaissance Regiment and he was briefed about the present status of the unit by the present Commanding Officer. Colonel Commandant appreciated all the Commanding Officers who commanded the unit from the inception for their hard work to uplift the standard of the unit. In the troops address Colonel Commandant paid his gratitude for all the fallen war heroes and injured soldiers for their immense contribution to the nation. After the troop address, he also took his time to have a conversation with all ranks of the unit. Further Colonel Commandant appreciated the soldiers of the unit for their dedication towards the regiment in his camp visit after inspecting the newly constructed other ranks main kitchen. The day’s event also included with tree planting and all rank tea.
