Whither the Fates Call

THE CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY AND COLONEL COMMANDANT OF SRI LANKA ARMOURED CORPS VISITS 4 ARMOURED REGIMENT

The Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Major General Sathyappriya Liyanage WWV RWP VSV USP ndc psc visited the 4 Armoured Regiment on 25 May 2020.

The visit commenced with unveiling of the Tank Monument near the entry way to the camp where he was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer. Subsequent to the guard turnout, the Colonel Commandant declared the newly constructed CO’s chalet open. Thereafter he planted a Mango sapling and posed for a group photograph with Officers.

During his address to the troops the Colonel Commandant emphasized that it was a pleasure for him to visit the regiment and recollected his CO tenure of 4 AR as the most important period of his 36 year long military career. He stated that the virtues such as comradeship and professional uprightness of the Officers and men of the unit are unique and advised to continue maintaining the same. He further added that he will always be proud of the valor and commitment of the 4 AR, particularly during combat operations, remembering Officers and men who paid the supreme sacrifice.
