CAVALRY SUPERCROSS 2017 WAS CONCLUDED IN GRANDIOSE NOTE
7th edition of Cavalry Supercross was held on 2nd July 2017 at ‘Iron Side’ Camp in Pangolla, Kurunegala. The event was organized by the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps in collaboration with Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders.
Cavalry Supercross is annually organized as fund raiser for numerous welfare projects launched by the Regiment for the betterment of officers and soldiers who killed, wounded and MIA during three decade of ethnic conflict.In addition, those funds also utilized for welfare projects launched by Regimental Centre and all other units of the Sri Lanka Armoured corps.
Minister of Sports, Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara was graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the event with the presence of Maj Gen R V Udawatte psc ato, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army and many other distinguished guests.
Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Colonel Commandant’s Challenge Trophy for the Best Driver was won by Ashan Silva whilst Sonna Vander Hoeven Memorial Challenge Trophy for the Best Rider was received by Ishan Dasanayake.
