As per the guidance of Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Commander Security Forces (West) and the Colonel Commandant SLAC, an Officers Training Day and a Diners’ Club for the 1st Quarter of 2024 were successfully conducted on Wednesday, 21 February 2024 at Rock House camp premises with the participation of SLAC senior officers and officers, including those serving on extra regimental employments.
The training programme was coordinated by the staff of the Armoured Brigade with the overall supervision of the Commander, Armoured Brigade.
The Training Day was structured into five insightful segments, each designed to empower and equip our officers with essential skills and knowledge. The first segment of the day commenced with an educative lecture on physical wellness conducted by the Commander, Armoured Brigade, which participants enthusiastically attended. The second segment involved sword drill training for the officers. Segment Three was dedicated to enhancing the public speaking abilities of junior/middle-grade officers, followed by an educational visit to Colombo Dockyard PLC as segment Four.
During the evening hours, as a culminating segment, a Diners’ Club was held with the intention of widening the horizons of knowledge on Meta Leadership through Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Mind Muscle Vibration Therapy (MMVT), by Leadership and Personality training specialist Dr. Kuma Iddamallena.
Major General P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, Director General - Directorate of Staff Duties, warmly welcomed the Guest Lecturer upon arrival and accompanied him for the interactive session, which was followed by the lecture. All the participants actively participated in the Q & A session, and finally, all gathered for cocktails and dinner, marking the end of the day’s programme.
