Under the guidance of Maj Gen S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and Colonel Commandant SLAC, an Officers Training Day and a Diners Club sessions were successfully conducted on Monday, 11 June 2024, at the Home of Armour. The event saw active participation from SLAC officers, including those on extra regimental employments, and was coordinated by the Armoured Brigade.
The Training Day was meticulously structured into five insightful segments, each designed to empower SLAC officers with essential skills and knowledge. The day commenced with a physical training session, setting an energetic tone. The second segment focused on sword drill training, honing the officers' ceremonial skills.
In the third segment, junior and middle-grade officers enhanced their public speaking abilities, followed by the fourth segment, which included lecture and practical sessions on BMI conducted by Officer Instructors from APTS.
The day's highlight was the inaugural Generals’ Talk session, where Seven Two Star Generals shared their extensive knowledge and experiences with the young cavalrymen, fostering a rich exchange of insights.
This successful event underscored the commitment to continuous professional development within SLAC officers.
